Deine Konstitution und Bioenergien haben Einfluss auf den Alterungsprozess.

In a world that is constantly changing, many people are looking for ways to lead a long and fulfilling life. Longevity, often referred to as longevity, is influenced not only by genes but also by environmental factors and individual behaviors. The holistic approach of European Ayurveda® offers you proven therapies and routines for healthy aging.

Aging is not a disease but a natural process in the flow of life. In Ayurveda, called "Jara," aging is influenced by "Shareera" (body), "Indriya" (emotion), "Satwa" (psyche), "Agni" (metabolism), and "Ojas" (immune system). To maintain health, these different aspects of each person need to be in balance. With the help of Ayurvedic teachings, it is possible to live in harmony with nature, universal consciousness, the environment, and individual constitution.

Factors for a long life

To age healthily, it is important to incorporate a healthy lifestyle and healing routines into daily life. On a mental level, harmonious decisions and actions promote healthy development of the mind at any age. The following principles have a direct impact on the aging process:

  • Doshas (bioenergies) determine your longevity on a cellular level. Vata, the energy of movement, controls all life functions of the body. Pitta drives digestion and metabolism. Kapha directs anabolism and coordinates the smooth interaction of different body areas. Health and disease directly reflect the balance and interaction of the Doshas in your body. This gives them a decisive influence on the aging process.

  • Prakriti describes your individual constitution - on an anatomical, physiological, and psychological level. This "basic composition" of your being affects your metabolism and immune system, as well as your mental state and your preferences and inclinations. Thus, Prakriti determines your ability to develop physically and mentally - in youth and in older age.

  • Digestion and conscious eating: Your eating behavior – that is, what, when, where, and how you consume food – influences, according to the teachings of European Ayurveda®, your personality. Conscious eating in tune with nature (i.e., seasonal and regional) promotes optimal digestion, corrects imbalances in the body, can prevent diseases and ailments, and delays the aging process.

  • Achar Rasayana, translated as "young, agile mind," is an Ayurvedic strategy for regulating social behavior that ensures a healthy life in a healthy society. In our dynamic community, the ability to adapt to different behaviors is of great relevance to social health. Optimism and resilience can be crucial in influencing quality of life and thus its duration.

Longevity: 12 simple measures for every day

1. Get up early+

A fresh start to the day canregulate your body's natural rhythm and promote longevity.

2. Drink warm water+

When you drink warm water in the morning, your metabolism is stimulated and the elimination of toxins is supported. Add a little lemon juice, coriander, or cumin to the boiled water to enhance the effect.

3. Gandusha (oil pulling)+

By mindfully "pulling" high-quality oil in the mouth, the oral microbiome is supported, which can protect against unwanted bacteria and gum problems. Tip: Apply oil pulling before tongue scraping and brushing your teeth.

4. Jihwa Prakshalana (tongue scraping)+

Morning tongue scraping removes bacteria and toxins, improves oral health, and strengthens the immune system.

5. Abhyanga (self-massage)+

A loving self-massage with warm (herbal) oil can calm Vata, combat stress, improve circulation, and strengthen the immune system.

6. Practices for body and mind+

Yoga, Pranayama, meditation, or other exercises in the morning can calm the body and mind and promote health and longevity.

7. Regular meals+

Those who always have meals at the same time , regulate metabolism and prevent cravings or loss of appetite. Breakfast and lunch should be the main meals of the day according to Ayurvedic teachings.

8. Balanced diet+

A balanced diet with all six tastes (sweet, sour, salty, fatty, bitter, and umami) supports the absorption of all necessary nutrients.

9. No late dinner+

To not disturb the body's rhythm and support healthy sleep, you should have your dinner before 7:00 PM.

10. No distractions during meals:+

Completely focus on your meal while eating. Eating in front of the screen or other distractions can encourage overeating and poor digestion and thus impair your health.

11. Healthy sleep+

Sleep is, in Ayurveda, one of the most important pillars of health. Go to bed early, practice breathing exercises (Pranayama) or meditation, and avoid distractions from television or smartphones.

12. Detoxification+

Sometimes the imbalances in the body become so severe that all the points described above are not enough to bring you back into balance. In such cases, a more comprehensive detoxification program may be required. Treat your body to a break once a year if possible.

A healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular exercise, and stress management significantly contribute to how your body and mind develop over the decades. By combining the millennia-old principles of Ayurveda with insights from modern science, you can individually develop a holistic approach to a long, healthy, and happy life.
