Der Herbst bringt nicht nur eine Veränderung in der Natur, sondern auch in Deinem inneren Gleichgewicht.

When the morning fog lies over the meadows and the leaves rustle underfoot, the third season has arrived. Autumn brings not only a change in nature but also in your inner balance. However, this change does not affect everyone in the same way: depending on your constitution, you react differently to the cooler, drier environment and the longer nights due to your Dosha.

According to Ayurveda, autumn is primarily characterized by one bioenergy: Vata, the air and space Dosha. The winds of change can lead all constitution types to feel more nervous and tense than on the past summer days, and worries and anxieties you have repressed may find their way into your consciousness. On a physical level, the cool weather affects your immune system and your digestion. The body loses fluids, which can be balanced by warming, oily, and moist foods and conscious eating. Rest and retreat are beneficial for all Dosha types in autumn. Depending on the primary energy that determines your body, autumn affects your well-being.

Have you not yet determined your Dosha? Then take the Dosha test.

Your Dosha in Autumn

Pitta: Coolness and Relief

For Pitta types, autumn is a true blessing. The cooler weather complements their warm, oily nature and balances it out. The fresh, dry air helps to moderate the excess fire inside. But that's not all: the longer autumn nights provide Pittas with more time for rest and sleep, through which they can recharge the batteries depleted in summer and strengthen themselves for the coming winter days. If you are a Pitta type, pay particular attention to a healthy diet that supports your immune system to avoid inflammation and infections.

Kapha: Vitality and Energy

Much like Pitta types, Kaphas feel lively and refreshed in autumn. The dryness and lightness of the air sweep away the excess moisture and heaviness of the hot summer. Kaphas thrive in this season and feel as if they are replenishing their energy. If Kapha Dosha predominates in you, you should pay special attention in autumn to eating mindfully. With the cold, appetite increases, which can lead to a buildup of toxins and weight gain due to your constitutionally low digestive fire (Agni).

Vata: Routines for Balance

For Vata types, autumn can be a challenge. The cool, airy nature of autumn exacerbates their natural tendency toward physical and mental restlessness. Vatas are generally more susceptible to illness and must be especially mindful to stay healthy in autumn. If you are a Vata type, make sure to keep warm and do not overexert yourself. Ayurvedic routines can help you balance the Doshas and maintain your inner equilibrium.

For all Dosha types: Give your body and mind the opportunity to adapt to the changes of the season. Ensure sufficient rest and sleep, eat healthily and balanced, and exercise regularly in the fresh air. Try to maintain a positive mindset on a mental level and follow your needs. When you live in harmony with your Ayurvedic Dosha, you fill your body with new energy in autumn and can enter winter healthy, strengthened, and full of vigor.
