The Panchakarma Cure for Home

Anyone can do Ayurveda! This is perhaps the basic idea of the book "The 7-Day Panchakarma Cure for Home" published by actress, voice-over artist, dancer, and singer Andrea Kathrin Loewig in collaboration with European Ayurveda® pioneer Elisabeth Mauracher and Ayurveda doctor Gaurav Sharma. The Panchakarma Cure for Home guides you through your 7-day detox cure, not only detoxifying your body and replenishing new energy but also bringing your mind and soul into balance. A wonderful experience that you can enjoy comfortably in your own home.
Andrea Kathrin Loewig and European Ayurveda®
In the popular series 'In aller Freundschaft', Andrea Kathrin Loewig plays the doctor Dr. Globisch. Privately, however, Loewig is very interested in the holistic approach to medicine and sees potential in complementing conventional medicine with other healing methods. Although she has repeatedly come into contact with Ayurveda herself, it took a while until her path finally led her to Tyrol to the European Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof and thus to the concept of European Ayurveda®.
It was probably also the right moment. Because the actress with an open nature was exactly in the phase of life where it is important to recognize what is really important to her. After her Panchakarma Cure Light, she felt, besides the new energy within herself, above all her changed perception of herself and her surroundings. A consciousness process that sharpens the senses has occurred, and it became a matter close to Loewig's heart to share this experience. And so the book "The 7-Day Panchakarma Cure for Home" came about. Because not everyone can afford a multi-week Ayurvedic cure – be it for financial or time reasons. However, if there is a willingness for change, then this book is a good way to start holistic detoxing.
What exactly is Panchakarma?
As the queen of all Ayurvedic cures , Panchakarma is particularly intensive and thus a profound measure to restore both physical and psychological balance. As a guided cure in a corresponding facility – such as the European Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof – it is accompanied by an expert team, Ayurveda doctors, and physicians. Depending on the complaint, a classic Panchakarma cure can therefore last several weeks. It is especially suitable for gastrointestinal diseases, metabolic disorders, skin diseases, chronic pain, and also delays the aging process because fasting renews cells. Translated, Panchakarma means "Five Actions", these five treatment forms are:
Vamana (therapeutic vomiting)
Virechana (purgation)
Anuvasan Basti (oil enema) and Asthapana Basti (non-oil enema with herbal medicine)
Nasya (head region cleansing through sinus treatments)
Oils (oiling, oil massages)
In addition, there is the – especially important in the West – part of 'spiritual detoxification' with yoga, meditations, breathing exercises, and suggestions for self-reflection.

The responsibility to look after oneself
In Ayurveda, not only are body, mind, and soul understood as a unit, rather we are one with the cosmos, nature, and its changing seasons. However, our modern, performance-oriented society virtually forces us to perform at the same level at all times. We demand something from ourselves that is completely contrary to nature. This alienation has not only led to the promotion of diseases that are now particularly prevalent in our Western world but also to a state of imbalance with ourselves.
Constantly betraying our own health has become almost self-evident. If we are not stressed, we seem not to fulfill a certain image of success. According to Ayurveda, however, it is the responsibility of each individual to take good care of themselves, holistically. According to this approach, you are always your own first doctor. We have forgotten to cultivate this kind of self-responsibility. Instead, the maxim we have made a habit of is to function at all costs. But as Ayurveda doctor Gaurav Sharma aptly says, diseases arise from habits.
Panchakarma and European Ayurveda® for Home
"The 7-Day Panchakarma Cure for Home" is so simply structured that you can easily implement it within your own four walls.
European Ayurveda® connects the ancient Indian healing doctrine of Ayurveda therefore with the demands of the Western world. Thus, complaints such as migraines, tension headaches, back problems, stress-induced irritable bowel syndrome, depression, anxiety, or burnout are brought to the forefront. And the wide range of possibilities also brings some people to the brink of despair. The agony of choice regarding lifestyles and the dogma of having to experience as much as possible plunges us into emotional stress. For a holistically healthy life, European Ayurveda® places emphasis on:
Breathing
Nutrition
Sleep
Physical activity
Mental balance
"The 7-Day Panchakarma Cure for Home" is not intended to replace a Panchakarma cure. Rather, it is about finding a way to reconnect with yourself and your own feelings. Without having to completely turn your life upside down. The book is particularly easy to implement, it offers you a small introduction to the Ayurvedic philosophy, the concept of European Ayurveda®, and gives you valuable tips and tricks from the pantry to the emergency pharmacy.

Course of the cure at home
From day 1 to day 7, you are guided through your Panchakarma cure with a structured process. From morning routine to evening ritual. You gain exciting insights into the individual chakras and are also inspired with breathing and yoga exercises for meditation and movement. Massages are also an important part of the cure, followed by exercises, impulses for thought, or questions for self-reflection as well as beautiful mindfulness rituals. These include, for example, a gratitude list or the soul letter. Delicious recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner round off the program.
And when you have finally completed the seven days, the book also gives you further tips on how to integrate your newfound sense of life into your everyday life. These help you to abandon unhealthy habits, allow for change, and develop a healthy relationship with your diet. In addition to the cure, there are also further delicious recipes as inspiration for a healthy lifestyle. As mentioned: The book does not replace a proper Panchakarma cure, but it can help you to bring out the best in yourself and sharpen your awareness of what truly benefits you. We certainly wish you a lot of fun with your Panchakarma cure at home!
