In the popular series 'In aller Freundschaft', Andrea Kathrin Loewig plays the doctor Dr. Globisch. Privately, however, Loewig is very interested in the holistic approach to medicine and sees potential in complementing conventional medicine with other healing methods. Although she has repeatedly come into contact with Ayurveda herself, it took a while until her path finally led her to Tyrol to the European Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof and thus to the concept of European Ayurveda®.

It was probably also the right moment. Because the actress with an open nature was exactly in the phase of life where it is important to recognize what is really important to her. After her Panchakarma Cure Light, she felt, besides the new energy within herself, above all her changed perception of herself and her surroundings. A consciousness process that sharpens the senses has occurred, and it became a matter close to Loewig's heart to share this experience. What exactly is Panchakarma?

As the queen of all Ayurvedic cures , Panchakarma is particularly intensive and thus a profound measure to restore both physical and psychological balance. As a guided cure in a corresponding facility – such as the European Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof – it is accompanied by an expert team, Ayurveda doctors, and physicians. Depending on the complaint, a classic Panchakarma cure can therefore last several weeks. Translated, Panchakarma means "Five Actions", these five treatment forms are:

  • Vamana (therapeutic vomiting)

  • Virechana (purgation)

  • Nasya (head region cleansing through sinus treatments)

  • Oils (oiling, oil massages)

In addition, there is the – especially important in the West – part of 'spiritual detoxification' with yoga, meditations, breathing exercises, and suggestions for self-reflection.

The responsibility to look after oneself

In Ayurveda, not only are body, mind, and soul understood as a unit, rather we are one with the cosmos, nature, and its changing seasons. However, our modern, performance-oriented society virtually forces us to perform at the same level at all times. We demand something from ourselves that is completely contrary to nature. This alienation has not only led to the promotion of diseases that are now particularly prevalent in our Western world but also to a state of imbalance with ourselves.

Constantly betraying our own health has become almost self-evident. If we are not stressed, we seem not to fulfill a certain image of success. Course of the cure at home

From day 1 to day 7, you are guided through your Panchakarma cure with a structured process. From morning routine to evening ritual. You gain exciting insights into the individual chakras and are also inspired with breathing and yoga exercises for meditation and movement. Massages are also an important part of the cure, followed by exercises, impulses for thought, or questions for self-reflection as well as beautiful mindfulness rituals. These include, for example, a gratitude list or the soul letter. Delicious recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner round off the program.
