Ayurveda cure for home

Do you absolutely have to travel abroad for weeks for Ayurveda? The answer to that is no! Of course, there are also great offers for Ayurveda cures near you. Unfortunately, everyday life doesn't always allow for extended absences. If you would like to do something for your well-being and health at home, we are happy to give you a few tips here. This way, you can create your own authentic Ayurveda cure at home.
Tip 1: Detox at home with Ayurveda
Before you really start an Ayurveda cure, detoxification of the body is on the agenda. This is called an Ama therapy. In this way, metabolic waste and toxins are eliminated from the body. Additionally, it strengthens Agni, the digestive fire. It acts like an internal beauty treatment. A 10-day detoxification is recommended:
In the morning: preferably right after getting up, drink an Ayurvedic energy drink. Just fill a large glass with hot water and stir in half a lemon, a pinch of salt and pepper, and a tablespoon of honey. Mix everything thoroughly and drink it warm. This drink provides energy for the day and is good for all three Doshas. If you're very hungry, you can eat a slice of toast. Freshly squeezed fruit juices are good. Also recommended is cleaning the mouth, tongue, and teeth with the Ayurvedic morning routine. A subsequent yoga session is advisable.
Drinks: A little later, you can drink a cup of ginger tea, preferably lightly sweetened with honey. A warm drink of this kind is recommended hourly. After about half past six in the evening, you should only drink if you are really thirsty.
In between: freshly squeezed fruit juices help to suppress intermittent hunger.
At noon: now you can eat your fill. However, some foods should be avoided : pork, beef, yogurt, quark, cheese, raw vegetables, fatty and sweet foods. Do not fry or deep-fry. Instead, prefer to consume the following: rice, carrots, beets, leafy greens, vegetable and grain soups and salads in small amounts. Relax but do not take a nap.
In the evening: Ideally, skip dinner. If hungry, consume vegetable and grain soups, rice with steamed vegetables, and fruit juices. Preferably don't eat anything after 7:00 PM. End the day with a relaxing foot massage, meditation, or a mindfulness ritual such as journaling or positive affirmations.

After these 10 days, you should slowly return to a normal diet. Of course, this doesn't mean immediately returning to extremely fatty or sweet foods. It's best to continue leaning towards a Ayurvedic, type-appropriate diet . You can find out which type you are with our Dosha test.
Tip 2: Ayurvedic beauty treatments
Ayurvedic beauty treatments are also highly recommended. Their goal is to nourish and care for the individual tissue layers (Dhatus). This way, the body can transport and absorb nutrients better. It is also gently cleaned and nourished. These are purely natural methods that help achieve a beautiful and healthy appearance. Here are some examples for home
Ayurveda hair cure:+
Instead of buying expensive hair care products, Ayurveda helps. Use high-quality sesame oil or argan oil. This is applied to the dry hair ends and serves as a hair treatment. Simply take a hazelnut-sized amount of oil in your hand, rub it, and distribute it well on the hair ends. It is best to apply before going to bed, as the oil can absorb particularly well then.
Ayurveda pimple cure:+
The best solution for skin impurities is neem oil, which comes from the seeds of the neem tree. It has many antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and pain-relieving properties. That's why it's a great anti-pimple method. After facial cleansing, you can dab the oil pure or in an oil mix directly on the pimple or small impurities. For dermatological conditions, or severely inflamed skin areas, please consult a dermatologist first.
Ayurveda skin cure: +
If you want to cleanse your skin pores gently and thoroughly, you can easily create an Ayurvedic face mask with turmeric and sandalwood:
1 pinch of turmeric
1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder
½ teaspoon of honey
2 cups of natural yogurt or soy yogurt
Simply mix the ingredients together until the consistency is right. Adjust the quantities as needed. Then apply the paste to the cleansed face. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then wash off thoroughly with warm water. Note: Turmeric can leave a yellowish tint on the skin temporarily. So it's better not to try before important occasions and keep it away from clothing.
Ayurveda body cure:+
For the body, an Ayurvedic dry massage with chickpea flour is recommended. The dry massage has a peeling effect and also cleanses the skin. It also stimulates metabolism and circulation. You need:
1 cup of chickpea flour
1 teaspoon ginger powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
These ingredients should be briefly heated in a pan without fat and stirred. Apply the mixture in small portions to different parts of the body (except the face) – massage the mixture in circular motions. After the thorough massage, shower off with warm water. Feel free to apply a light oil afterward, like jojoba oil. Then relax for at least 20 minutes.
Tip 3: Ayurvedic herbal preparations
Herbal mixtures are also particularly beneficial for health. In Ayurveda cures, they are an important component as they have a regenerating and balancing effect:
Triphala: this product contains three very potent herbs that promote digestion and gut health and contribute to colon cleansing. Triphala also has a restorative and rejuvenating effect.
Ashwagandha: this is Indian ginseng. It also has a rejuvenating effect, as it balances Vata very well. This is one of the factors involved in the aging process. The last stage of life is also Vata-dominated.
Aloe Vera: this is called "Kumari" – the young girl. That's exactly what this medicinal plant is about. It has many positive effects on our body, both when applied internally and externally. Aloe Vera has a lot of enzymes and wonderfully neutralizes free radicals – exactly that counteracts skin aging. You can purchase the preparation as a juice or gel, or extract it directly from the plant yourself.
Approach your Ayurveda cure slowly and stress-free. The mentioned applications can be wonderfully integrated into everyday life. Benefit from increased well-being and feel holistically fitter.
