Der ganzheitliche Ansatz von Ayurveda sorgt für einen gesunden Körper, Geist und Seele.

Only when you are completely healthy can you unfold your full life energy. With the holistic approach of Ayurveda, you ensure that both your body and mind are refreshed and happy. Here you will find out what exactly health means in Ayurveda and which tips you can apply from Ayurvedic healing when you are not feeling well.

When is a person healthy?

The question may sound a bit trivial, but unfortunately, we often don't take our health seriously enough. From our western perspective, being healthy usually means nothing more than the absence of disease. In Ayurveda, however, health means living in harmony with oneself and the environment.

More and more people now recognize that health is something individual and therefore depends on one's own physical and psychological condition. In Ayurvedic medicine, this holistic perspective has been applied successfully for thousands of years.

Specifically, this means that you are really well only when you live in contact and harmony with your inner self. If you deal with yourself mindfully and sense and consider your individual needs, you live balanced and feel good. An optimal health condition in Ayurvedic medicine depends on several factors.

The Doshas are balanced

We all possess the three Doshas Kapha, Pitta and Vata.

In each of us, however, one or more Doshas are particularly pronounced, which determines our very individual constitution type. Therefore, it is understandable that our susceptibilities to diseases are very different and mainly depend on our own Dosha type.

In principle, however, we are only completely healthy when all our Doshas are balanced. We can feel this balance not only on a physical but even on an emotional level.

Body and Mind are One

In Ayurveda, the focus is on promoting health instead of fighting diseases. Ayurveda uses a holistic approach because the body and psyche are inseparably connected . If your soul is not feeling well, your body feels it too and cannot feel comfortable.

To be truly healthy, you must learn to feel, what it means when your body is in perfect balance. Only then can you pay attention in time to the signals that indicate something is not right. If you do not pay attention to the right balance, you will become ill.

How do diseases arise from an Ayurvedic perspective?

Whenever your Doshas are not balanced, you feel unwell. Soon you will also recognize the first signs of it. If you simply ignore the resulting needs, you do yourself no good and eventually become ill. Diseases are our body's way of showing us that we need to pay more attention to it.

How an imbalance of the Doshas arises

There are different reasons why the Doshas are not balanced. Our lifestyle and the way we use our senses, have a major impact on the body and psyche. The key factor for imbalance is excess. For example, if we perceive too many sensory stimuli that overwhelm us, it can be stressful and bring our Doshas into disharmony. Also, excessive stress or incorrect, one-sided nutrition disturbs this balance.

The more we overwhelm our bodies, the faster they let us feel this stress. In Ayurveda, the development of disease is seen in six stages:

First Stage+

In the first stage of disease development, the Dosha can no longer flow freely. This slowly becomes noticeable because you simply don't feel well. At this stage, it is still very easy to counteract and balance this, for example, by eating less or moving more.

Second Stage+

The second stage is the reinforcement of the first. The Dosha can no longer flow, it builds up. Here too, with lifestyle changes it can still be counteracted very well.

Third Stage+

In the third stage, the Dosha now spreads into other regions of the body, it overflows. Balancing becomes more difficult here, and you may need herbal preparations.

Fourth Stage+

The fourth stage is already considered aharbinger of disease, because here the Dosha spreads into regions of the body where it shouldn't be, and it becomes more difficult to stop the progression of disease.

In the fifth stage, we speak of+

In the fifth stage, we speak of manifestation. Now typical symptoms of diseases appear.

Sixth Stage+

In the sixth stage, it results in chronification. The disease pattern has now spread.

In the last two stages it is difficult to counteract the situation. The good thing is, however, that it takes a long time to reach the sixth stage. Especially in the early stages you can still do a lot yourself to regain more harmony and relaxation. Here we give you some tips from Ayurvedic medicine, which have a healing and beneficial effect for you. for you. für Dich haben.

Ayurveda: Health and Healing

From an Ayurvedic perspective, healing means restoring the harmony of body and psyche. An Ayurvedic practitioner takes into account all your individual physical and emotional needs and puts together a therapy plan tailored to you. But you can also take precautionary measures regarding your mental and health condition yourself in order to prevent diseases from having a chance in the first place.

How to Promote Your Health

In Ayurveda, health is primarily related to diet. If you always make sure to stimulate Agni, your digestive fire, your body will cope better with food, and ultimately you will also feel better. It is particularly important that you pay attention to a diet suited to your type which is individually tailored to you., die individuell auf Dich abgestimmt ist.

Also, massages and gentle physical activities can effectively contribute to the prevention of diseases. If your body has been overstrained and you already feel the consequences, you can, of course, do a lot to regain balance.

What You Can Do in Case of Illness

A detoxification cure can help your consciousness to come to rest, so that you find your center again. It also brings mental relief and ensures deep purification and ease. With different meditation techniques your mind can come to rest again, which in turn leads to the healing of your body.

Since health and well-being in Ayurveda are above all an individual matter, the balance of your Doshas is also very important. If you do not feel well, it might be useful to undertake a Dosha balance.

Balancing Doshas: How To Do It

Each Dosha is responsible for different areas in our body. If one or more Doshas are present in excess, it quickly leads to unpleasant symptoms. But with a few simple Ayurvedic diet and health measures, you can balance this excess and increase your physical and mental well-being.

Too Much Vata Dosha

The Vata Dosha is primarily responsible for our mental and physiological activities. If you have too much Vata in your body, you will notice it through too dry skin, constipation, and/or sleep disturbances. Do you feel particularly nervous and anxious? This too can be related to an increased Vata Dosha.

Warming and easily digestible foods like soups warm the cool Vata-Dosha and have a calming effect. A compote of sweet fruits or root vegetables is as comforting as a warm cup of ginger water in the morning.

Reduce stressful sources whenever possible and be careful to eat in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. If you also meditate regularly, you will feel calmer and more composed.

An excess of Pitta-Dosha

Pitta regulates all transformation processes in our body, such as food breakdown, energy production, and temperature regulation. Excessive Pitta can be felt in the form of skin diseases, gastritis or migraines as well as through fiery emotions like anger, hatred, or jealousy. Therefore, be sure to avoid spicy and acidic foods, as they only intensify the fiery Pitta-Dosha.

Instead, you should opt for cold and bitter foods to cool down your Pitta a bit. Your main meal should take place at noon and preferably consist of a large portion of salad. Raw foods also optimally dampen Pitta-Dosha. We also recommend a cool bath in the morning for pleasant and long-lasting cooling.

Increased Kapha-Dosha

The Kapha-Dosha produces strength and vigor and ensures a robust immune system, stability, and healthy joints. If you are overweight, lack energy, and feel congested in the head or chest area, it could be due to an excess of Kapha. An excess of Kapha also leads to unhealthy attachment to things and people and generates greed and envy.

To balance your Kapha-Dosha, you should avoid consuming too many cold, heavy, and mucous-producing foods like cheese, meat, or dairy products. Instead, try a light and stimulating diet with spicy spices to invigorate your metabolism. Also, skip unnecessary snacks and generally eat a little less. 1-2 cups of hot ginger water with a bit of honey are particularly beneficial for you now.

Ayurveda knows that it is important for your health to pay attention to yourself and your natural needs. Your body intuitively knows what is good for it and what is not. If you are attentive and consider your physical and emotional signals, you enhance your well-being and stay centered. Then you fulfill all the prerequisites for leading a healthy and happy life!
