Ayurveda in Trend

Fashionable lifestyle or consciousness expansion? Surely you've noticed that the Ayurvedic philosophy is spreading. More and more people are interested in eating healthily, living sustainably, and unfolding their own potential. Among them are many stars or personalities in the public eye who are popularizing the Ayurvedic lifestyle. It's no wonder that Ayurveda as a holistic philosophy is 'in trend.' But what exactly does that mean, or what is behind this interest?
Ayurveda: here to stay
When something is trending, it is in fashion. However, fashions have an expiration date. This does not apply to Ayurveda, because the philosophy is a guide to a better, healthier, and more fulfilling life. Integrated into every stage of being, Ayurveda is a constant companion. Whether it's nutrition, exercise, health, beauty, or personal development, Ayurveda requires conscious decision and attention. This is not easily consumable, but demands active engagement.
The Sonnhof also wants to work with the concept of European Ayurveda® to help as many people as possible become a better version of themselves. In addition to a form of Ayurveda adapted to our Western lifestyle, personal mentoring is also included.
Body, mind, and soul united
It generally seems that there is much more behind the current 'trend' than just a fashion phenomenon. More and more, we see ourselves as a unity. If our body doesn't feel well, then our soul doesn't feel well, and vice versa. Consequently, we can also assume that humanity doesn't feel well if our Earth suffers. If we see ourselves as part of a unity, it also influences the way we want to take our steps. And even if most of us cannot change the entire world overnight, many currently want to change the world within themselves. And that is already a remarkable step.
Conscious, healthy eating with Ayurveda
The awareness of how incredibly important nutrition is for health, well-being, or even appearance has been spreading more and more in recent years, finding resonance and acceptance. When we realize what we're subjecting our body to with unhealthy eating, robbing us of energy when food should nourish us, it does something to our consciousness. And that's a good thing. Automatically, you'll be more mindful in your choices while shopping, during your lunch at work, or while cooking at home.
When you are aware of what each fruit and vegetable contains, which spices are good for what – which ones even exist – then you have the opportunity to add to your body what it needs. Mindfulness also has something to do with recognizing the gifts that nature has provided for us. As funny or sad as it may sound, many people can no longer name most of the plants while walking in nature. And this in an era where we supposedly have the easiest access to knowledge. What does it say about our intelligence if we eat but don't know what we're eating? Unawareness makes us insecure – and many want to consciously say goodbye to this feeling.

Getting to know oneself
One of the most beautiful, yet challenging journeys is the journey to oneself. Getting to know oneself, knowing what is hidden in our soul and mind, is perhaps the most important encounter you can have. If you know yourself, you know where your boundaries lie. And here, too, the trend seems to be towards expanding these more and more, opening ourselves to life and everything it has to offer. This is how changes are possible and only this way can you truly discover what universe is hidden within you.
Elisabeth Naschberger-Mauracher, the managing director of Sonnhof, lives and breathes European Ayurveda® and, as a coach in Empowerment Mentoring, increasingly has the impression that people are turning strongly to their own intuition. "It's becoming normal again for someone to express their feelings and not suppress them," she says. When we become freer in dealing with our feelings, give them space and become able to articulate them, we can better deal with negative feelings and even change them. This ultimately not only increases the quality of life but also gives you the chance to discover your true greatness.
