Healing stones in European Ayurveda®

Have you ever heard of the power of healing stones? These are special rocks and minerals that are said to possess certain energies. In European Ayurveda®, we believe that these energies can help treat various ailments. Of course, healing stones do not replace medical treatment or the advice of a doctor. If you have health problems, you should always seek professional advice. However, Ayurvedic applications and energy work can help you strengthen your body, mind, and soul.

What are healing stones?

Do you like wearing jewelry? The aesthetics, shine, shape, and color of various minerals and gemstones have always fascinated people. They have been made into jewelry pieces and sometimes have high value. However, in Ayurvedic teachings, stones are also used to support the bioenergies. The so-called healing stones are said to be charged with certain energies. They can help soothe the Doshas and alleviate various psychological and physical ailments. You can use healing stones, for instance, for inner restlessness, stress, digestive issues, or sleep problems.

You can place healing stones in your environment, for example. Put them in places where you often spend time, like your desk at work, on your nightstand, or in the living room. The energies are intended to contribute to your well-being. You can also wear the healing stones as a piece of jewelry around your neck.

For internal use, it is recommended to put the stones in a carafe with water, from which you drink the water throughout the day.

To maintain the energetic effect of the healing stones, you should regularly "recharge" them. In Ayurvedic teachings, it is believed that sunlight or moonlight have particularly strong energies that you can use for charging the healing stones. Lay the stones in the sun or moonlight for a few hours to energize them.

The right healing stones for your Dosha

Vata

The Dosha for activity, change, and movement is closely connected with the nervous system, creativity, and life energy. Rubies have a positive influence on Vata. Their energies are invigorating and revitalizing. For inner unrest and stress, the soothing energies of emerald are helpful. Excessive Vata can be reduced with the green gemstone.

Pitta

The fire Dosha Pitta brings temperament, warmth, and heat into your life. The digestive fire Agni is influenced by Pitta as much as your emotions and self-confidence. Irritability and digestive problems indicate that this bioenergy is not quite balanced. The rose quartz, often called the "love stone", helps with emotional imbalance such as heartbreak or mood swings.
The moonstone has a calming effect on Pitta. It is said to balance the hormonal system and have an effect on inner dissatisfaction.

Kapha

The bioenergy Kapha represents calm, stability, strength, and balance. The respiratory tract, as well as inner stability and the immune system, are influenced by the Dosha. A daily routine is especially beneficial for people with Kapha. However, too much Kapha can quickly turn stability into sluggishness. Then the digestive fire Agni also doesn't work as well as it should. The opal is the healing stone that brings Kapha back into balance. It radiates warmth and is said to make the inner fire shine again.
Another stone is the garnet, which strengthens Kapha. In cases of low libido, a sluggish digestive system, and inner tension, the healing stone is said to help resolve blockages.

As you can see, there are a lot of different healing stones that can support you on your journey to a better version of yourself. Nevertheless, you should pay attention to all components in your daily life. A healthy diet, exercise, and a daily routine contribute to your overall well-being.
